A 34 year-old man, Kuma Ahiadu, has been stabbed to death by a suspected fowl thief at Kwame Kokpe, a village near Odupong Ofaakor in the Awutu Senya East municipality of the Central Region.
Brother of the deceased, Levinson Ahiadu who narrated the story to Adom News’ Kofi Adjei said the incident happened around 1:00am Wednesday.

According to him, the suspect, on that fateful day, cut through the net of the deceased’s hencoop and attempted to take off with his fowls.

He said Kuma Ahiadu who spotted the suspect warned  him to let the fowls go but he refused and was attempting to move away.
Kuma, on realising that the suspect might escape with the fowls, raised an alarm which led to a struggle with the suspect.
The suspected thief, in the process, stabbed the 34 year-old mason and subsequently took to his heels.
“My brother was trying to prevent a thief from stealing his fowl, leading to a fight and in the process, the thief stabbed him”, the deceased’s brother recounted.

The matter, Levinson said, attracted some people to the scene who later rushed the deceased to the hospital.
But he (deceased) was pronounced dead on arrival at the Hospital.

The thief who is currently at large abandoned the fowls following the struggle.
Meanwhile, the Ofaakor District Police Commander, ASP Christopher Darkey says his outfit has begun investigations into the matter.
