Aggrieved serial callers of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) have described as “useless” the 13-member committee set up to look into the cause of the party’s defeat in the recently held general elections.

In their opinion, only a total overhaul of the current party executives will prevent the eminent implosion in the party.

Popular serial callers, Alhassan Bawsa and Majesty Mensah made the comment on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen prgoramme Friday.

The committee chaired by former Minister of Finance and Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission, Prof Kwesi Botchway is to among other things listen to the concerns of party members on the reasons they lost to find an amicable solution to the problem.

So far, activities of the Committee has been marred with violence and blame games in some regions of the country.

Based on this backdrop, Alhassan Bawsa believes the work of the Committee is an exercise in futility.

According to him, most party members across the country know the reasons why the NDC lost the 2016 general election, therefore, does not need a committee to express their concerns.

Rather, Alhassan wants the national executives who failed the party to lead the reconciliation drive for people to vent their spleen on them.

Also, Majesty who was also on the show called on all party executives not to seek reelection for their own good.

He maintained that, though Prof Kwesi Botchway and other committee members are doing their best, they will not achieve any positive results.
