Lawyer of the late J. B. Danquah-Adu, Nana Obiri Boahen, has expressed disappointment in the Pathologist who conducted an autopsy on the deceased for contempt.
He said failure of the medical officer, Dr Lawrence Edusei, to submit the autopsy report to the Accra Central District Court is a deliberate attempt to cover up the entire truth.

“How can a whole court direct you to submit an autopsy report only for you to come out to tell us that it’s missing. The doctor’s conduct is very bad and all I can tell him is that may his road be rough. I’m not cursing him but that’s the only message I have for him” he said on Accra-based radio, Okay FM.

The medical officer, Dr Lawrence Edusei, has been under immense pressure from the court and police prosecutors to release the autopsy report, two years after the murder of the Member of Parliament (MP).
The court, on two occasions, ordered Dr Edusei to release the report and also summoned him three times to appear before it, for failing to obey the order.
At Thursday’s hearing of the case, the presiding magistrate, Ms Gloria Laryea, announced that Dr Edusei had submitted the report.
She, consequently, instructed that the report be forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.

But speaking on the issue, Lawyer Obiri Boahen, who is also the Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) said Dr Edusei’s failure to honour the court summons issued on February 8, 2018 showed that he (Dr Edusei) had no regard for the Judiciary.
“He should have been in court, even if he was the President of Ghana. It is as if he just threw the report at the court”, he said.

He said Dr Edusei failed to demonstrate respect to the court and the judiciary as a whole.
This notwithstanding, Lawyer Obiri Boahen believes justice will be served after the autopsy report had been submitted.
