New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin Central in the Central Region, Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyepong, is accusing some senior police officers of being corrupt and in bed with criminals.
According to Mr. Kennedy Agyapong, junior officers in the Ghana Police Service are being killed rampantly by criminals because some senior police officers are in bed with these criminals.

The situation, he noted is fast creating tension among the rank and file of the police service.
The NPP firebrand insists that there are still some bud nuts in the service who are dining and whining with these criminals who have taken the country hostage and operating because they have the backing of some senior officers and will be released once they are arrested.
“Seriously I don’t trust the police service, especially the senior officers. They are bogus. I have evidence to show that most of the criminals in this country are working hand in hand with senior police officers”, he stated.

He continued: “When junior officers arrest criminals, they are released by the senior officers after they have been given huge sums of money by these criminals. They know what they get from these criminals and that is why junior police officers are dying”.

The outspoken MP was speaking on Adom TV’s Morning Show ‘Badwam’ Tuesday, concerning recent attacks on security personnel across the country.
The latest attack was on the Kwabenya Police Station over the weekend. The culprits shot and killed a police officer on duty and freed seven suspects who were in police custody in the process.
The attack has heightened fears of insecurity among Ghanaians with some security analysts suggesting the police cannot protect the citizenry.
Commenting specifically on the Sunday dawn gun attack on the Kwabenya Police Station, Mr. Agyapong said it was unfortunate but was quick to criticize the senior police officers for the attack.

“The top rank is rotten and I will continue to say it till they end such stupidity. They should stop protecting criminals”, he cautioned.
He urged the IGP to up his game in ensuring that whenever crimes are committed the perpetrators are brought to book to serve as a deterrent to criminals in the society.
