The Africa Hockey Federation (AfHF) at its latest congress in November 2017, at Ismailia, Egypt, awarded Ghana the right to host the prestigious Africa Cup for Club Champions (ACCC) tournament.
The tournament will be held at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium from 20th – 28th January 2018.
This tournament is an annual competition organized by the African Hockey Federation and this will be the 4th time Ghana will be hosting the Africa Cup for Club Champions.
The Executive Board of the AfHF, led by its President Mr Ahmed Seif will be in Ghana for the tournament.
The AfHF has appointed Mr Mark Taljard (South Africa) and Ms Hulda Ambe (Nigeria) as Tournament Directors for the competition.
Nonetheless, Prof. Ediga Agbo of Nigeria has also been appointed the Umpires Manager, whilst Ghanaians Mr Richard Bayitse and Ms Joyce Datsa are named technical officials.
The Local Organising Committee (LOC) chaired by Mr Kwame B. D. Essah has been put in place to organize the tournament.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Hockey Association (GHA) believes that hosting will give the Ghanaian clubs yet another opportunity to emerge winners of the competition.
All sports loving Ghanaians are to visit the Theodosia Okoh Stadium from 20 – 28th January 2018 to witness the international hockey tournament.
The Ghana Hockey Association (GHA) has no doubt that the ACCC will be a huge success.
