Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has inaugurated the Board of Directors of G-Water Bottling Limited, charging members to transform the subsidiary into one of Ghana’s most visible, trusted and commercially successful bottled water brands.
The inauguration forms part of GWL’s broader strategy to diversify its revenue streams, strengthen business operations and create sustainable value through investments beyond its core mandate of potable water production and distribution.
G-Water Bottling Limited, a subsidiary of GWL, was established to manufacture, package and distribute safe, high-quality drinking water while operating on sound commercial principles.
The newly inaugurated board comprises Mr. Agbesi Nutsu as Chairperson, Dr. Hadisu Alhasan as Executive Director, Mr. Sulemana Alhassan Alancash and Mr. Joseph Zefo Kero as Non-Executive Directors, and Madam Innocentia Kuupiel as Chief Executive Officer.
Speaking at the ceremony in Accra, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ghana Water Limited, Mr. Eric J. Biliguo Adama, described G-Water Bottling Limited as a key pillar in the company’s long-term growth strategy.
He noted that although the G-Water brand had earned public confidence due to its quality, purity and taste, its full commercial potential had yet to be realised because of limited market availability.
Managing Director of GWL, Mr. Adam Mutawakilu, said the subsidiary presents an opportunity for the company to leverage its expertise in water production and quality assurance to compete effectively within Ghana’s growing bottled water market.
According to him, the company is expected to generate additional revenue, strengthen the Ghana Water brand, create employment opportunities and contribute to national economic development.
Board Chairman of G-Water Bottling Limited, Mr. Agbesi Nutsu, pledged the board’s commitment to providing strategic leadership and effective oversight to ensure the company’s growth and sustainability.
He stressed that G-Water Bottling Limited was established not merely as a commercial venture but as a strategic subsidiary of Ghana Water Limited with the responsibility of manufacturing, packaging and distributing safe, reliable and high-quality drinking water to consumers across the country.
