President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo has indicated that government is working hard to strengthen cyber security in the country.
Delivering his second State of the Nation Address (SONA), Thursday February 8, 2018, the President noted that strengthening cyber security will build confidence and protect the use of electronic communications in national development.
He said this will also ensure that young technologically savvy people would keep Ghana firmly in the IT economy.

“We’re working to strengthen cyber security to build confidence and protect the use of electronic communications in national development and ensure that our young technologically savvy people would keep Ghana firmly in the exciting IT economy and its many opportunities” he said.
President Akufo Addo maintained that a whole new set of dangers of cyber insecurity and fraud have emerged even with modern tools.

He revealed that subsequent to Cabinet approval, the framework agreement between Ghana and the Republic of Mauritius, for an initial investment in the development of a technology park in Dawa, in the Greater Accra Region, has been ratified by Parliament for implementation to begin.
