The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that personnel have not received their 2025 rent allowance.

Management of the Service described the reports as false and urged personnel and the general public to disregard the information.

In a statement, the GNFS said the final tranche of the 2025 rent allowance was paid in April 2026, contrary to claims that the allowance remained outstanding.

The Service, however, said arrangements were underway for the payment of the 2026 rent allowance.

According to the GNFS, a committee has been established to facilitate the mechanisation of the 2026 allowance, with the process expected to be completed soon.

Management assured personnel that it remained committed to addressing their welfare concerns, including compensation and other related matters.

The Service also reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and said it would continue to operate an open-door policy to provide accurate information to its personnel.

The GNFS appealed to the public to refrain from circulating the unverified information on social media to prevent the spread of misinformation.
