Doctors at the Winneba Government Hospital in the Central Region have been able to save the lives of four persons injured in a fatal accident at Gomoa Mpota junction on the Winneba road.

At least seven people have been confirmed dead in a fatal accident that occurred at Gomoa Mpota Sunday evening.

The accident happened after a Sprinter Mercedes Benz Bus with registration number GT 3389-17 collided head-on with a Toyota Corolla with registration number CR 416-17.

The injured include a 3-year-old boy who sustained severe head injuries but doctors say they are in stable conditions.

Medical Superintendent at the Winneba Trauma Hospital, Dr Douglas Amponsah confirmed the stability of the four victims on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Monday.

He said the young boy who was unconscious has regained consciousness and is now able to move his limps.

Dr Amponsah also confirmed that the mother of the young boy was among those killed in the accident but fortunately his uncle is with him in the hospital.

The other three male patients who sustained minor injuries, he stated, are also stable.
