The General Manager of Wa All Stars, Seth Panwum has confessed that the team did not adequately prepare to partake in the 2017 Champions League.

“We didn’t prepare enough for the competition but this is football and what happened to us can also happen to them in the return leg because they are also not playing competitive league in their country so I believe we can go there and upset them as well,” he told Asempa FM.

The 2015/2016 Ghana Premier League Champions suffered a setback in their first ever continental match played at the Tamale Stadium on Sunday.

The Blues 3-1 lost to Libyan side, Al Ahly Tripoli at home has given themselves a tall order in the return leg to be played next weekend in Tripoli.

Ali Tango, Muaid Ellafi and Mohammed Salto scored for the Libyan side with Emmanuel Ocran getting the consolation goal for Wa All Stars.

But the defeat, Seth Panwum said happened because of the lack of adequate preparation.

He however argued that the team lost the match because it failed to utilize its chances against Al Ahli Tripoli.

“We failed to utilize all our chances against Al Ahli of Tripoli and we were punished for that.” He told Asempa FM.

“We had it wrong on the day but we can turn things around in the return leg so we are down but not out of the competition.
