A 42 year old man has allegedly butchered his wife in cold blood for denying him sex.
The suspect, Philip Yabahye stabbed his wife several times around the chest, hands and neck on Monday midnight in a mad frenzy.
The unfortunate incident happened at Nyantasi, a suburb of Offinso in the Offinso North district of the Ashanti region.
Police Commander for Akumadan, DSP Zubavel, confirmed this to Adom News Tuesday.
Cruise FM’s reporter, Kojo Adu Twum who followed the story said the suspect got angry when his wife denied him sex.
He indicated that, Philip stormed out of the room for a cutlass and inflicted wounds on his wife for not performing conjugal duty.
Residents who claimed the marriage between the two had hit the rocks heard the woman screaming and quickly alerted the police.
When quizzed, the suspect, Philip claimed he felt possessed by some “uncontrollable spirits” to kill the wife.
He is currently in police custody assisting in investigations and the body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue.
