The Communications Director of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Akomea has allayed the fears of his supporters questioning his exclusion from the ministerial nominees appointed by President Akufo-Addo.

In a Facebook post, the former legislator said the president has discussed with him the role he would be playing in government and will be soon announced.

Given the role he played in the NPP’s electioneering campaign, a lot of people thought Nana Akomea would be among the first to be named as Minister-designate.

But his name was not part of the 36 ministers designate announced by President Akufo-Addo. This left many of his supporters and friends even in the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to wonder why he [Akome] seem to have been sidelined.

But Nana Akomea said there is no cause for alarm since he has been assured a key position in the Akufo-Addo led administration.

Below is the Facebook post.

‘I have seen a few posts on social media wondering about what role l might play in this new promising npp government.

I am truly touched by all these sentiments from all of you my good friends (and from some not so good friends as well) I assure all of you that the president has graciously discussed with me a role he is keen to see me play in his government.

When he is ready, the president will announce it like he is doing for other roles. I thank all of you ladies and gentlemen so much,’ Nana Akomea said.
