Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Vice President, Fred Pappoe has revealed that, it is likely he will contest for the presidential seat of the GFA following the upcoming elections which will be supervised by the Normalization Committee.

The Accra Great Olympics Director disclosed on Asempa FM that, he wants to have a clear idea as to how the  procedure, arrangement and of Ghana football will be before making a firm decision; and that is the main issue holding his declaration.

“There are a lot of unknown factors which makes it a bit difficult to come out and state that you want to lead. We are still in the transition stage; let’s see how far things go, let’s get the rough idea of how things will be and then we can all stick our neck out. But it’s very likely that, I will contest for the position.” He expressed.

Some aspirants for the GFA seat have already started donating to some football clubs and certain personalities in order to easily execute their ambition.

But Pappoe says this does not scare him since everybody has their own way of doing things and that he won’t base on others actions to take decision.

The normalization committee was constituted by FIFA on the 27th of August 2018.

Their core mandate are three; which is to run the GFA’s daily affairs and cooperate with the special task force; also, they are to review the GFA statutes to ensure compliance with the requirements of FIFA and CAF, particularly art. 15 of the FIFA Statutes and finally, organise and conduct elections of a GFA executive committee on the basis of the revised GFA statutes.
