First year students of Mamfi Methodist Girls Senior High School in the Eastern Region are not happy with the portion sizes of meal served them for lunch as part of the free Senior High School programme.

Every pan of food is shared by 12 students in a group around a small table.
The students also complained about the quality of the food.

“We are not happy with the food. We want more. The government should do something about it,” a student said when Citi News visited the school on Tuesday.

The free SHS policy was launched by President Akufo-Addo a week ago.

Students per the programme are exempted from paying tuition and feeding fees among other levies charged senior high school students.

Some head teachers have recently been interdicted while others sacked for charging unapproved levies.
