Four persons have been remanded into police custody by the Sefwi Wiawso Magistrate Court over their alleged involvement in a chieftaincy dispute at Sefwi Nsuasua in the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality of the Western North Region.
The suspects were arrested following recent disturbances linked to an ongoing chieftaincy conflict that has raised security concerns within the community.
Confirming the development, the Assembly Member for the Nsuasua Electoral Area, Frank King Ackah, said the four suspects have been put before the court and remanded to assist police with ongoing investigations.
According to him, the situation is currently under control, adding that efforts are being intensified in collaboration with the police to maintain peace and safeguard lives and property in the area.
Meanwhile, the Kyidomhene of the Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Area and Chief of Sefwi Nsuasua, Nana Eluo Payin III, alleged that the suspects, together with a group of heavily built men, stormed the palace armed with guns and other weapons.

He claimed the group attempted to attack occupants of the palace, prompting traditional authorities to alert the police.
The police subsequently intervened and arrested some of the suspects for questioning.
The remand is expected to allow investigators to gather further evidence as authorities work to unravel the circumstances surrounding the dispute and prevent any escalation of tensions in the community.
Police have urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies while investigations continue.
