The Regional Representative of Acreaty Management PLC, Elsie Appau, has been recognized by the Africa Achievers Foundation as an African Achiever.

Mrs Appau who is the head of Acreaty Ghana received the recognition in the United Kingdom House of Commons at an event hosted by Rt Hon Diana Abbot MP, Shadow Home Secretary.

She received the awards alongside other Africa achievers such as HE Senator Howard Taylor, Vice President of Liberia; Mr Ibrahim Mahama, a  Ghanaian business mogul, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, Leader of Nigeria’s House of Representatives; Mo Abudu, a TV Mogul and Linsey Oliver, Co-Founder of Al- Jazeera among other great Achievers.

The Award adds to many of such recognitions received by Elssie in the past including being honoured as the 2007 Youth Mentor and Inspiring African – Liberia, 2017 FortyUnder40 Achiever.

As Regional Representative for Acreaty Management PLC, a multinational Human Resources Company, Elsie has led her team to develop a programme dubbed “Beyond Academics” where young people are trained on employable skills to prepare them adequately for the job market.

Elsie has also worked on promoting gender equity by supporting initiatives on the campaign against early and forced marriages.

She has touched many lives in the sectors of Gender, governance, water and sanitation, as well as human resource.

Mrs Appau has over 14 years working experience as a policy analyst, project management expert and has worked as a social development specialist with particular expertise in water governance, gender and public financial management issues.

Among other things, Elssie has advised and worked on various projects which look at project management, good governance with the World Bank, African Development Bank, the UN system and the Netherlands Foreign affairs Ministry.

She is a Ghanaian Lawyer, Policy Analyst and Water Governance specialist.

Elsie advocated for the passage of the Domestic Violence Act and worked as Gender Advisor with the Netherlands Embassy who funded the implementation of the National Plan of action between 2009-2012.

She has served as a board member of the Dominion University Council, FEED Africa,  Ministerial Advisory Board for Youth and Sports, West African Sexual and the Reproductive Rights Committee.
