Police in Effiduase have launched a search for two armed men who stabbed to death, a final year Business student of the Effiduase Senior High School in the Sekyere East District of the Ashanti Region.

Eighteen-year-old Derick Agyei died few hours after being rushed to the Effiduase Government Hospital’s Emergency Unit after two armed men stabbed him in the neck on Wednesday evening.

Police say the deceased, in the company of a friend, had scaled the school’s fence wall to watch a football match outside campus when the attack occurred.

His friend, Douglas Obeng, 17, has since given a statement to police.

Superintendent Asare Bediak, District Commander told Nhyira FM that Douglas left the deceased in a pool of blood and proceeded to town to watch the football match without raising an alarm.

A team of crime officers from the Efiduase Divisional Police Command have since been deployed to the school to begin investigations into the incident.

  1. Are we not sure that the friend knows something about the stabbing of the deceased. He should have raised an alarm or report to the police or even the school authorities as early as possible. But he continued to watch the football match in town. The deceased kept too long in the pool of blood that is why he died a few minutes after reaching the hospital.
