General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu says deputy General Secretary, Nana Obiri Boahen wasn’t on suspension.

According to him, the party only curtailed his public speaking on behalf of the party and later referred him to the disciplinary committee of the party.

“Who suspended Obiri Boahen; he wasn’t suspended. He was only referred to the disciplinary committee and asked not to speak on behalf of the party but was never suspended,” he said in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Wednesday.

Obiri Boahen who was referred to the party’s Disciplinary Committee following some allegations he made against his party in a leaked recording that went viral said what happened to him was a lesson from which he has taken a cue.

The NPP has appointed deputy national officers and directors to head the various directorates of the party and the list includes Mr Obiri-Boahen.

The appointment of the officers was done at a joint National Council and National Executive Committee meeting in Accra.
