Demolition of unauthorised structures along the Adentan-Dodowa road has commenced to pave way for reconstruction of the 22 km into a 2-lane dual-carriageway.
Several billboards, stalls, kiosks and containers were pulled down on Thursday, 8 February 2024.
Some of the affected victims salvaged their items while others looked on helplessly and wept.
The demolition follows the expiration of a January 23 deadline which was given for the voluntary removal of temporary structures to facilitate the smooth progression of the project.
The project is to be undertaken by Oswal Investments Limited.
The Adentan-Dodowa road dualisation project is a significant milestone to improve transportation efficiency and boost socioeconomic development.
Interchanges and flyovers are expected to be positioned on portions of the road.
