General Secretary of the Ghana Football Coaches Association, Lawyer George Quayson is proposing “One Region,One Soccer Academy ” to government to help develop grass root football.
He made the call during the Ghana Football Coaches Association first ever congress  at the Ghana Football Association’s Secretariat last Saturday, bringing together all trainers in the country.
The objectives  of the Association  includes training, grading,  examining, licensing,  promoting and classifying all  coaches throughout  the country in cooperation with GFA.
To initiate legal  proceedings for  and on behalf  of a member  to improve  the  status of  coaches  and the standard  of coaching  by initiating and encouraging  the education and spirit  of  sound  coaching among  members .
And also to advise,  guide and  protect all  registered football  coaches in  Ghana from  injustice  and  unfair  treatment  arising  from  their  employment  and service arising  from directly or  indirectly from the performance  of their duties as coaches  within any organized football  entity whatsoever.
In an interview on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, Lawyer Quayson mentioned that they are hoping government takes their proposal on board to develop young talents.
He further stated that, as an association, they wouldn’t mind if government decides to cater for the players who would come out of the academies and then take all the profit at the end.
According to the FIFA licensed  “A” Coach, “there are a lot of players who just need opportunities to show what they have got”.
The event held in the capital, sought to create a platform where local coaches share ideas and look at the longevity of the body.

  1. Rather get players to be financed by the various district assemblies they may come from. Imagine a district produces the mould of an “Asamoah Gyan”, the district assembly would obviously make millions of dollars.
