Management of Central University has suspended all remaining activities scheduled for this year’s Students’ Representative Council (SRC) Week following reports that five individuals affiliated with the university were arrested by the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC).
The decision was announced in a statement signed by the University Registrar after media reports linked the individuals to an incident allegedly connected to a programme held during the SRC Week celebrations.
According to the university, it is currently engaging NACOC and other relevant authorities to establish the facts and obtain verified information on the circumstances surrounding the matter.

Management noted that investigations are ongoing and urged the public to avoid speculation and allow due process to take its course.
The university reiterated its commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for teaching and learning, while maintaining high standards of discipline, responsibility, and integrity within the university community.
It explained that the suspension of the remaining SRC Week activities is a precautionary measure pending a review of the incident and an assessment of existing event management protocols.
