Ghana Actors Guild has entreated renowned Kumawood actors, Kwadwo Nkansah popularly known as Lil Win and Kwaku Manu to settle their differences after weeks of verbal exchanges between the two.
The disagreement between them is believed to have started after one Top Kay who is said to be Lilwin’s fetish priest came out with a song titled ‘Mo tan me’.
In the song, Top Kay purports that some industry players have been wishing for the downfall of Lil Win so he invoked curses on them.
The lyrical content of the song didn’t go down well with Kwaku Manu who seemed to suspect that Lil Win was behind the song and deliberately incited Top Kay to attack them.
With this, Kwaku Manu rained curses on Lil Win for destroying the lives of some key industry players with the aid of his fetish priest.
“You think only women are in Kumawood. You think you have things to say. You think you are working with priests so you fear nothing. The thunder of God will strike you. I don’t think any priest has power than God. The priest helping you to destroy things in the movie industry won’t take you anywhere…” he cursed.
But in an interview with Adom News, the Ashanti Regional President for the Ghana Actors Guild, Bill Asamoah called for calm between Lil Win and Kwaku Manu.
He advised them to utilize the right channel to solve matters amicably to protect the image of the Kumawood industry.
“They should ceasefire. We have an industry to protect. We are one big family. If you they feel bitter about anything there is the right channel to use. We would urge them to calm down. We have reputations as individuals to protect. The regional executive will contact them soon…” he said.
Meanwhile, industry players like Vivian Jill and Big Akwess also waded into the controversy and registered their displeasure at the song.
