Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member Nana Oduro Sarfo is confident the Black Stars will continue to improve, insisting the national team has the potential to achieve greater success with patience and continued development.
His comments follow Ghana’s campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, where the Black Stars exited the tournament in the Round of 32 after suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to Colombia.
Assessing the team’s performance, Oduro Sarfo expressed optimism about the future, highlighting the quality and potential of the squad’s younger players.
“If given the time, I believe we will get there because we have young players who can do better going forward,” he told Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show.
Ghana began their World Cup journey on a positive note with a 1-0 victory over Panama before holding England to a goalless draw in their second group match.
The Black Stars then concluded the group stage against Croatia, progressing to the knockout rounds before their elimination by Colombia.
With the World Cup now behind them, attention has shifted to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign.
The Black Stars have been drawn in Group C alongside Gambia, Ivory Coast, and Somalia, with the qualifiers set to commence in September as Ghana looks to secure a place at the continental showpiece.
