Budding songstress Lamisi Music has recounted one of the most unpleasant experiences of her career, when a business meeting was disrupted by a label manager’s wife.
Lamisi said she had arranged to meet the music executive to discuss business when the unexpected confrontation unfolded at a restaurant near London Bridge.
Recounting the incident, she explained that the manager had asked her to send him some songs ahead of their meeting so he could listen to them and familiarise himself with the music they intended to discuss.
She said she sent about five audio files to him, unaware that the messages would trigger suspicion from his wife, who allegedly accessed his phone and interpreted the exchanges as evidence of an affair.
Lamisi said she was looking forward to the meeting, having ordered food and a cocktail at the restaurant, when the man’s wife suddenly appeared and demanded that her husband step outside to speak with her.
According to the music executive, the manager attempted to explain that she was there for a professional engagement, however, the woman was not ready to cooperate.
“I was just there, looking clueless. She was screaming ‘come out, I want to talk to you’. And the man was like ‘Can you please excuse me? Do you know her? She’s called Lamisi, she works with Wanluv and Steve-O”
As though the scene she created was not enough, Lamisi said the woman ransacked her husband’s bag in search of condom, while accusing him of infidelity.
Lamisi said she was taken aback by the confrontation and made it clear that she had no interest in being drawn into the couple’s private affairs.
“She started screaming again, saying she knows her husband is a sex addict and he has a history of promiscuity. At that point, I had to speak and I told her, ‘madam, I don’t need to know this. It’s none of my business. I’m here for business, so don’t tell me this’,” she recounted.
The incident left the manager embarrassed, according to Lamisi, who said he later apologised to her before leaving the restaurant.
