Ghana has extended an invitation to Jamaica to participate in this year’s Afro-Gastro Festival as part of efforts to strengthen cultural ties and deepen collaboration between the two countries.

The invitation was extended by the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, during a courtesy call by Jamaica’s Minister for Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sports, Olivia Grange.

Welcoming the Jamaican delegation on behalf of Ghana, Madam Gomashie said the invitation is to promote cultural exchange and celebrate the shared heritage between the two nations.

She disclosed that beyond the Afro-Gastro Festival, Ghana is also planning a music festival and expressed optimism that Jamaica would participate in the initiative.

According to the Minister, discussions during the meeting focused on leveraging culture as a diplomatic tool to foster mutual development and strengthen bilateral relations.

Hon. Olivia Grange, a founding member of the Jamaica Association of Composers, is widely recognised for her significant contributions to Jamaica’s music industry and cultural development.

The engagement underscores Ghana’s continued efforts to use culture, tourism and the creative arts to build stronger international partnerships while promoting African and Caribbean cultural exchange.
