The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has issued a final notice to all individuals and traders with unauthorised temporary structures around the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, ahead of a planned decongestion exercise scheduled for tomorrow.
In a statement, the Assembly said all structures that do not conform to its specifications must be voluntarily removed on or before Wednesday, 30th July 2026.
According to the KMA, failure to comply will result in a massive decongestion exercise on Thursday, 31st July 2026, which will be carried out jointly with its security taskforce.
The Assembly has therefore advised owners of affected structures to remove all valuable items from the sites before the deadline to avoid any losses or damage during the operation.
It noted that prior to this final notice, it had engaged stakeholders and issued several public notices in a bid to secure compliance and ensure an orderly process.
The KMA said it remains committed to restoring order in the area, particularly around the stadium enclave, and urged full cooperation from affected persons as the deadline approaches.
