American musician, Beyonce, wife of rapper Jay-Z has featured Ghanaian dancehall act Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, on her ‘Lion King’ album created and produced by her.

Beyoncé called the album ‘Sonic Cinema’ and said the film “is a new experience of storytelling”, and that the album “is influenced by everything from R&B, Pop, Hip hop and Afro Beat.”

Her song with Shatta Wale is titled ‘Already.’

The entire project involved other African musicians such as Burna Boy, Yemi Alade, Mr Eazi, Tekno, Wizkid, Busiswa and Moonchild Sanelly.

Other stars on the project were Kendrick Lamar, Jay Z and Pharrell among other notable musicians and producers across the globe.

Beyonce also talked about the relevance of working with African producers since the ‘Lion King’ story was set in Africa, hence the need to involve musicians from the continent.

Shatta Wale has registered his excitement about the international project which was premiered worldwide.

Taking to his social media pages, Shatta Wale described the story as “breaking news” with most of his Shatta Movement fans showering praises on him.
