The Food & Drugs Authority (FDA) is warning the public to beware of fake and expired drugs on the market.
Public Relations Officer of Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), James Lartey gave the caution after the post-market surveillance team of the authority impounded fake drugs in some pharmacy shops in Accra.
According to him, it is important for a consumer to look out for the correct inscriptions on any medicines before purchasing the drug.
“We have realized that there have been some fake drugs in the system and so we urge the public to look out for specific features beyond the expiry date on drugs before buying” he said on Adom News.
He is also urging Ghanaians to be weary of buying drugs from persons who are not pharmacists.
