The second edition of the Betway Talent Search kicked off on 4th August 2018  with tryouts in Tamale and Sunyani where young talented footballers came to the Nobisco and Twene Amanfo parks to showcase their skills to scouts and coaches.

In each city, 32 players were selected for the Northern Trials, scheduled for 21st August 2018 at the Opoku Ware School Park.

The Betway Talent Search train has arrived in Kumasi with Stephen Appiah, former Black Stars captain and Technical Coordinator as its brand ambassador and lead coach respectively.

Other members of the scouting team include Maxwell Konadu, Eric Antwi Ofori, Mohammed Gargo, Sam Johnson and Godfred Aduobe.

The Kumasi tryouts look to see close to 500 footballers trying out, of which 32 will be selected by the coaches and scouts. This will be held at the Opoku Ware School Park at Santasi on the 18th August 2018.

According to the Assistant Black Stars Coach, Maxwell Konadu, the main motivations is to offer every young player the opportunity to show coaches and scouts what they are made of. The selection he said, has been tailored to make it easier for every coach to see the performance of all players on the pitch.

Speaking ahead of the Kumasi trials, he mentioned that  “We will give everybody the chance to show us what he has. We have quite a number of great legends who will be monitoring the players second after second before we finally deliberate and select players.”

The Betway Talent Search train continues to Cape Coast in the Central Region on Saturday, 25th August 2018 and finally to Accra on the 1st of September, 2018.

Eight players will have an opportunity to be drafted into the four Ghana Premier League clubs sponsored by Betway Ghana.
