A commercial driver met his untimely death when armed robbers shot and killed him in cold blood at Wasa Nkyease in the Wasa Amenfi East District of the Western Region.
The situation according to an resident in the town left all the passengers in the bus to flee into a nearby bush.
The community mostly constituted by traders has been witnessing robbery incidents in recent times.
But the eye witness said this is not the only driver to be a victim of gunshot.
“The traders travel at dawn to Kumasi to market. The armed robbers shot the driver leaving the passengers to flee for their lives. They arrived here at our village and we organized some men to go after the robbers but we could not catch up.” He explained.
He said the armed robbers did not rob anyone after killing the driver. “Drivers have been shot several times in this area” he added.
Body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue while police begin investigations into the matter.
