The Mampong Akuapim Traditional Authority has placed ban on drumming and noise making in the locality.

The ban is to pave way for the annual celebration of the Ohum Odwira Afahye in the traditional area.

The Apesemaka-hene of Mampong Akwapim Nana Yirenkyi, who disclosed this to Adom News said the ban will be strictly enforced and warned drivers and church owners to comply.

“We have banned all noises because of the festival. We use it to remember our ancestors. They were farmers. We use it to bless and divine them to bless us with more harvest.

“It is due to this that we are all alive. We are starting today and urging churches, drivers with car horns, among others to comply for two weeks to respect the culture” he said.

He further added that, the traditional authorities will drastically punish anybody caught violating the ban.
