A 20-year-old man met his untimely death while looking for his coconut in an abandoned galamsey pit.
According to reports, the deceased, Kwadwo Anim slipped and fell into the pit while retrieving his coconut Sunday.
This unfortunate incident occurred at Akrokerifie in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti region.
Assembly member for the area, Charles Obeng Kuttin confirmed this unfortunate incident to Adom News.
He said the deceased was trapped in the pit for hours until the police and some residents helped remove the body.
Charles Obeng Kuttin said the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Obuasi government hospital for autopsy.
