A group of land guards have allegedly beaten to a pulp, a woman at Legon in the Greater Accra Region when they invaded a piece of land belonging to the University of Professional Studies (UPSA).
The invaders allegedly fired gunshots during the operation amidst assault on residents leaving close to the property.

Speaking in an interview with Joy News, husband of the victim, Dr Kwaku Agyemang, said his wife has been rushed to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for medical attention.
“It all happened around 10:00 am on Wednesday morning while my wife was on phone giving directions to some people who were coming to see me. One Dzato guy ordered his men to fire shots and attacked my wife and threatened to eliminate me,” he said.

Meanwhile, the accused, Clement Dzato, has denied the allegations of invading the UPSA land and assaulting the woman and other residents.

“I am with the Ministry of Lands in charge of government lands acquired by an Executive Instrument which have been encroached and per our research, the land does not belong to UPSA as being reported,” he said.

“The lady we are being accused of assaulting was taking videos of us which I directed my men to ensure he deletes them neither did we fire gun shots but her husband rather drove his car through my men leaving one of them in a critical condition at the Legon hospital,” he said.
