Ghana Union Traders Association (GUTA) has bemoaned the influx of foreigners in the retail business.

Greater Accra Regional Secretary of GUTA, Nana Poku told Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Friday, Ghanaian businesses are collapsing at an alarming rate because locals don’t have the financial might to compete with the foreigners.

“We need to help our people but not look down on our own. These foreigners are collapsing our business. This is negatively affecting us. We need to move away from this mental slavery attitude,” he said.

According to Nana Poku, most local businesses had collapsed as result of unfair but stiffer competition from the foreigners.

He wants foreigners to leave the retail business or face the wrath of the group.

Meanwhile, GUTA has appealed to government to immediately drive foreigners out of retail businesses.
