Government is set to create a team of taskforce to monitor the various public transport operations and arrest and prosecute some workers caught stealing fuels and ticket racketeering.

The cause of the dwindling fortunes of most of public transport operations has been mainly attributed to managerial inefficiency, massive siphoning of fuel and ticket racketeering.

Some staff of the transport companies have been sacked in the past for various acts of indiscipline, fuel siphoning and ticket racketeering that is currently choking the company.

But the deputy minister of transport Titus Glover says governments is keen at reinvesting in the public transport and ensure it effectiveness.

Speaking at tour to the various transport stations, the minister sent a strong warning to management and staff to desist from such untoward practices.
