Former Minister for Lands and Natural Resources Alhaji Collins Dauda has been charged with abetment of crime.

General Secretary of National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu disclosed this to Adom News on Wednesday.

Mr Nketia said he accompanied the Member of Parliament for Asutifi South on Tuesday to the Police Headquarters where they were kept for more than three hours before he was charged and later granted bail.

According to him, the manner in which armed policemen, he believes are members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) vigilante group, Delta Forces, stormed the Accra and Ahafo homes of the former Minister, leaves much to be desired.

On Tuesday dawn, some police officers stormed the residence of the Asutifi South MP both at the constituency and in Accra to arrest him.

The officers claim they had order from above but Collins Dauda was not home when the incident occurred.

The NDC General Secretary says after waiting for long hours at the police headquarters, the Member of Parliament was charged with abetment of assault.
