Audio: Akufo Addo apologizes to Otumfuo over Delta Force attack

-

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has apologized to the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for the recent attack on the Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator by the Delta Force, a vigilante group associated with the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

President Akufo-Addo, who paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene as part of his three-day tour of the region, says he will ensure that sanity prevails and the rule of law takes its course in Ashanti region.

He says he will not allow people wherever they may belong to take the law into their own hands and disturb the peace in the region.

He has therefore assured the Asante monarch of his commitment to deal with lawlessness in the country.

He said he would not condone lawlessness under his leadership and reiterated his call to ensure such issues never happen again.

“There are a few things, Delta [Force] and other issues that are unpleasant, but we are working to deal with those issues to ensure peace and understanding in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, and the whole country,” he noted.

“I will not ignore such issues. The law applies to everyone in Ghana. I know it is of concern to you, but do not worry, we will ensure that everything is resolved” he said.
