Lawyer for former National Signals Bureau (NSB) Director-General Kwabena Adu-Boahene, Samuel Atta Akyea, has hit back at reports that he has withdrawn from the ongoing case, describing the claims as “wretched and vile propaganda.”
In a statement dated September 10, 2026, the former Abuakwa South MP dismissed suggestions that he had abandoned his client amid a dispute over a document being relied on by the defence.
“My attention has been drawn to some wretched and vile propaganda circulating on social media that I have abandoned my clients,” he said.
Mr Atta Akyea said the reports followed the prosecution’s claim that a document tendered by the defence was fake.
He, however, maintained that the document had already been admitted into evidence without objection before Justice Francis Apangabuno Achibanga, sitting as an additional High Court judge.
The lawyer insisted that he remained firmly behind his client and that his legal team was preparing what he described as a “very solid and credible submission of no case”.
“I cannot abandon or disown my client,” Mr Atta Akyea said.
He also took aim at the conduct of the case in the public space, arguing that disputes over evidence and legal arguments should be resolved in court rather than through social media exchanges.
“Kwabena Adu-Boahene’s case was launched on the platform of media trial, where lies sell. The court is the forum where evidence and law should settle vexed matters,” he said.
Mr Adu-Boahene, Angela Adjei Boateng and Advantage Solutions Ltd. are facing prosecution in the case, with the defence continuing to contest the allegations brought against them.
Mr Atta Akyea said he remained confident in the defence’s pending submission of no case, describing the allegations against his client as “sordid.”
