The latest Global InfoAnalytics poll has placed Dr Cassiel Ato Forson ahead of Johnson Asiedu Nketia in the race for the NDC’s 2028 presidential candidacy, with the Finance Minister securing 32% support among delegates.
The poll puts Dr Ato Forson at 32%, representing a 10-point increase from the 22% recorded in July.
NDC National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia, who previously polled 27%, has seen his support decline to 23%, placing him nine percentage points behind Dr Ato Forson.
The latest figures were shared on Facebook by the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, on Monday, September 14, 2026.
The results point to a notable shift in the preferences of NDC delegates, with Dr Ato Forson emerging as the only leading contender to record a double-digit increase between the two surveys.
Despite the movement at the top, a significant portion of the delegates remains undecided.
According to the poll, 28% of delegates declined to commit to any of the named contenders. Although still substantial, the figure represents a two-point drop from the 30% recorded in July.
Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu follows with 5%, down from 6% in the previous poll.
Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang and Chief of Staff Julius Debrah each recorded 4%.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s support declined from 7% in July, while Julius Debrah also dropped by one percentage point from 5%.
Professor Joshua Alabi recorded 2%, an improvement of one percentage point, while Food and Agriculture Minister Eric Opoku remained unchanged at 1%.
The latest figures suggest that the race could still change significantly, particularly as a sizeable number of delegates have yet to settle on a preferred candidate.
The relatively high percentage of undecided delegates also leaves room for contenders to consolidate their support and potentially alter the current standings ahead of the NDC’s presidential contest.
Mr Dankwah disclosed that the September poll was conducted among 3,615 NDC delegates between September 11 and 13, 2026.
The survey was conducted at a 99% confidence level, with a margin of error of ±2.17 percentage points.
The latest poll therefore places Dr Ato Forson firmly ahead of Asiedu Nketia, while highlighting the fluid nature of the contest and the potential influence of undecided delegates in determining the eventual outcome.
