The construction of a dual carriage road to replace the bad and untarred road that stretches from School Junction to Aviation Third Gate at Ashaley Botwe in Accra is progressing steadily.

The construction is to last for 24 months.

The project is funded by the Government of Ghana and its being executed by Oswal Investment Limited, a reputable construction company.

The construction of the road is aimed at easing the traffic congestion on the Adentan-Madina highway due to the deplorable state of the connecting routes.

Alexander Daniel Nii-Noi Adumuah, Municipal Chief Executive for Adentan earlier told the media that “the President, Nana Akufo-Addo is aware of the benefits of good road network within every municipality and its enhancement for the country’s vision of ‘Ghana Beyond Aid’ and will therefore work to eliminate such frustrations.”

The road construction, which began in March 2018, is now 16 months old leaving Oswal Investment Limited with eight months to complete the task.

In separate interviews, some residents in the area charged the government to ensure that the contractor executes the project on time to avoid abandonment as is the case in parts of the country.

“We want the government to make sure that the work is not abandoned because the roads here are very bad,” one of the residents, Eben Nartey noted.
