Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad as they strengthen their squad for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League campaign.

The 24-year-old returns to the Porcupine Warriors after two years with Ethiopian side Coffee S.C., where he established himself as one of the club’s key performers. During his time in Ethiopia, Danlad kept 28 clean sheets in more than 55 appearances across all competitions.

Speaking after sealing his return to Kumasi, the former Kotoko captain expressed his delight at rejoining the club where he began his professional career.

“I am very excited to be back here again, even though I left two years ago, but I always felt that the story had to continue,” Danlad told the club’s media.

“To have another chance of playing for Asante Kotoko once again means everything to me and my family because the club has played a truly special role in my life,” he added.

Danlad first joined Kotoko in 2016 as a teenager and progressed through the ranks before making his Ghana Premier League debut in a 2-0 victory over Aduana FC during the club’s 2021/22 title-winning season.

His impressive performances for the Kumasi-based side earned him a place in Ghana’s squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar under then-head coach Otto Addo.

Kotoko will hope Danlad’s experience and familiarity with the club can help bolster their ambitions as they prepare for the new domestic season.
