The Assembly man for Denkyira Boase who is believed to be one of the prime suspects in the lynching of Captain Maxwell Mahama in the town have voluntarily reported himself to the police in Diaso.

William Baah, according to Adomonline.com sources at the Diaso Police turned himself in to the police of Wednesday afternoon.

He is currently being taken to the Cape Coast Regional Police command which have taken over the police.

Other suspects in the matter are also held at the Police headquarters in Cape Coast.

There are various reports indicating that the Assembly man played a major role in the lynching of the Army Captain who according to Defense Minister had been deployed to the area to help fight illegal mining.

Rumours which Adomonline.com cannot independently verify indicate that he ordered the lynching of the Captain Maxwell Mahama who was billed to be promoted to the rank of Major next month.

He was also said to have reported the arrest of the soldier and his subsequent lynching to the Police but absconded a day after the lynching.

However, on Wednesday afternoon, he chose to voluntarily turn himself in to assist with investigations into the case.

Captain Maxwell Mahama was lynched by some residents of the town on suspicion that he was an armed robber.

  1. We haven’t seen anything yet, any country that massages the justice, turns the truth upside-down should expect nothing thing but lynching and mob justice. When something goes wrong in the society and the perpetuaters go unpunished, with the passage of time people would see nothing wrong that. Mob justice begin to surface when citizens loose trust in the authorities in-charge of justice are not allowed to freely and fairly discharge their duties or others persons committed same crime and went unpunished.
