The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said government is to blame for the Menzgold scandal.

According to them, many people invested in the gold dealership firm because of President Akufo-Addo’s open endorsement of the Chief Executive Officer of Menzgold Ghana Limited, Nana Appiah Mensah popularly known as NAM 1.

The NDC’s National Communications officer, Samuel Gyamfi revealed this during the party’s Moment of Truth” series at the NDC headquarters in Accra.

He alleged that, the open endorsements of NAM 1 by the President and other public officials led to “an exponential growth of the clientele base of Menzgold”.

Sammy Gyamfi said the President’s decision to take a photograph with NAM 1at the presidency is an endorsement of the company.

“President Akufo-Addo’s amorous affair of Akufo-Addo is the reason why he is being treated with kid gloves” he added.

The NDC man stressed that, “government must take responsibility and ensure Menzgold customers are paid their monies” he stressed.
