The Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission of Ghana, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie has been commended for the good works he is doing for mother Ghana, especially his flagship reforestation program that is employing over thirty thousand young Ghanaians.

Speaking on Kasapa FM’s morning show, the Director of Operations for the Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) Mr. Davis Opoku Ansah said, “Sir John’s contribution to the fight against unemployment is worth commending.”
So far, according to Mr. Opoku, “over thirty thousand people have been issued with letters to start work on June 4, 2018, and the interesting bit is that about 90% of those employed are without higher education qualification.”

He continued that, “this action by the forestry commission will remove a lot of young people from the streets and gainfully employ them”.
The AFAG director believes that this initiative is part of President Akufo Addo government’s practical steps to discourage the idle youth who engage in related social vices.

Additionally, Mr. Opoku, popularly called OPK, also commended the Government for introducing the Nation Builders Coup (NABCO), a program that seeks to employ 100,000 young graduates each year to work in several sectors of the economy.
