The family of Nigerian actor Alexx Ekubo has announced his burial date as June 18, 2026, following his passing on May 11 after a battle with kidney cancer.
In a statement accompanying the obituary, the family appealed to the public to continue keeping him, his wife, and the entire family in their prayers during this difficult period.
According to the funeral arrangements released, a Service of Songs will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at The Monarch Event Centre in Lekki, Lagos, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with attendees expected to wear white.
A wake-keep is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 7 Ekubo-Okwaraeke Avenue, Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village in Arochukwu, Abia State.
The funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village in Arochukwu.
Interment will follow immediately on the same day at 7 Ekubo-Okwaraeke Avenue in Ujari Village, while a reception is expected to be held at Mary Slessor School after the burial.
The family says the ceremonies are intended to honour the late actor’s life and legacy while allowing loved ones and fans to pay their final respects.
