The Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese of the Methodist church has backed calls for the disbandment of vigilante groups affiliated to political parties in the country.

The Right Reverend Michael Bossman is disappointed these groupings who only unleash violence and break the law have been treated with kid gloves by the security forces.

His discontent comes on the back of recent attacks on a Kumasi circuit court and the forceful takeover of public offices by members of the Delta and invisible forces.

The Methodist bishop tells Adom News at an Easter program that while the country deepens its democratic credentials it is important for the government to take the bull by the horn and entirely disband vigilantism.

The Rt. Rev Bossman called on government to overlook the political disadvantage and crack the whip.
