A man believed to be in 40s has been found dead in a dam at Gumani in Tamale of the Northern region Tuesday dawn.
It is unclear what killed the young man but residents suspect foul play in the death of the man.
The Assemblyman of the area Shaibu Abukari Karimoaw, said residents claim the posture in which the deceased was found points to the fact he couldn’t have died from suicide.
“I got a distress call this morning from a resident in the area that, a lifeless body was found in Gumani so I rushed to scene and it was true. The residents of the area told him that, around 2:00 am they saw a man on a tricycle struggling with the man till he was killed but they were afraid and therefore couldn’t go near them” he narrated to Adom News.
The body has since been deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital mortuary by the police
Hospital authorities say the body will be buried as soon identification and examination has been conducted.
