President John Dramani Mahama will begin a two-day tour of the Ahafo Region on Friday, October 9, to assess ongoing development projects and engage residents on government policies and the region’s economic prospects.
The visit, which forms part of his Resetting Ghana Tour, will feature inspections of major road infrastructure and an agribusiness facility expected to support poultry production and processing.
One of the key stops will be the poultry, meat and feed processing facility at Bechem in the Tano South Municipality.
The President is also scheduled to inspect work on the Tepa–Goaso Road, being constructed under the government’s Big Push Programme, as well as the Ntontroso Bridge, which links Acherensua, one of the region’s major food-producing communities.
Several ministers are expected to accompany him, including the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku; Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwame Agbodza; Minister of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare; and Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mahama Ayariga.
Ahafo Regional Minister Charity Gardiner and other government officials will also be part of the delegation.
The tour will conclude on Saturday, October 10, with a town hall meeting at the Victory Centre Assemblies of God Church in Goaso.
The engagement, dubbed #ResettingGhana Citizens Engagement with President Mahama, will provide a platform for residents and traditional leaders to raise concerns, offer feedback on government policies and outline their development priorities.
The President and his team are also expected to brief participants on ongoing projects in the region and key national interventions.
