Minister of Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, has dismissed reports of a rift between his ministry and the Ministry of Finance.
Speaking to journalists, Mr Opoku said no ministry is working against another, stressing that all government institutions are collectively working towards achieving the same objectives under President John Dramani Mahama’s Reset Agenda.
“No Ministry is frustrating the Ministry of Food and Agriculture. We all belong to one government, and we are working to actualise the same agenda—the Reset Agenda introduced by H.E. John Mahama,” he said.
Mr Opoku acknowledged that misunderstandings and miscommunication can occur even within families and small groups, but said such situations should not be misconstrued as evidence that government ministries are pursuing separate agendas.
“You know, even in our families, in our small circles, misunderstandings and miscommunication do occur. That never suggests that we are doing separate things,” he said.
According to him, the various ministries remain united in their efforts to deliver on the government’s development agenda.
“We are working together to actualise the Reset Agenda, and so let us not create that erroneous impression that other ministries are working against some ministries. It is never the case. We are collectively doing the same thing to get the results,” Mr Opoku added.
