Ghana is taking steps to restore its diplomatic presence in Ireland as part of efforts to deepen bilateral relations and strengthen engagement with the European country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed this following a meeting between Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, James Gyakye Quayson, and Morocco’s Ambassador to Ireland and Dean of the African Diplomatic Corps in Dublin, Dr Lahcen Mahraoui.
The meeting formed part of Mr Quayson’s official working visit to Ireland ahead of the planned reopening of Ghana’s Mission there.
The two diplomats discussed matters of mutual interest, including opportunities to strengthen Ghana-Ireland relations and promote closer cooperation among African diplomatic missions in Ireland.
The Ministry said the engagement reflects Ghana’s commitment to sustained dialogue and collaboration as it works to deepen diplomatic partnerships and advance shared interests.
The reopening of the mission is expected to provide a stronger platform for Ghana to engage with Ireland on areas of mutual interest.
